The RBI published two rupee coin to commemorate Jagadguru  Sant Tukaram. Saint Tukaram was a prominent Varkari Sant and spiritual poet during the Bhakti movement in India. Sant Tukaram was born and lived most of his life in Dehu, a town close to Pune in Mahārāshtra, India. Sant Tukaram was the reincarnation of Sant Namdev. Tukaram was born in a village called Dehu which is about 20kms from Pune.  Jagadguru  Sant Tukaram was lived during 17th century.

This Copper-nickel coin weighs 6.1 grams and has got a diameter of 26.7 mm and thickness of 1.58 mm.

This Nickel-brass coin weighs 6 grams and has got a diameter of 23 mm and thickness of 1.9 mm.
